One interesting fact (from my point of view) is the $25 million needed to support the phase II trials. Dr. Faustman's research is amazing considering how much of it is supported by bike rides, bake sales, and other minor fund raising events.

She seems to really be passionate about her work and I commend her for it. Hopefully she will succeed in her research and we will find a cure!

Dr. Faustman is, indeed, passionate about her research. I just wish I/we understood better how to raise awareness of the Phase I results, in order to accelerate the fund-raising efforts for Phase II. I've been a type 1 diabetic since 1962 and I can't wait for the Phase II trials to begin. A cure like this is something I've never allowed myself to even dream of ... until I met Dr. Faustman. How can we get mainstream media in the US to pay more attention to what she has done and what she plans to do through the next phase of her research?
